This could give players the ability to create local churches for the especially aforementioned big religions: Balkan Slavic Church vs Russian Slavic Church, for example. Also, the pagan faith should have the ability to be reformed multiple times. This still should simulate the fact that none of the pagan religions in Europe reformed but lower the amount of blobbing required. Additional controlled holy sites would reduce the piety cost required to reform the faith. The requirement of 3 holy sites should be replaced with 1 holy site and a big piety cost, similar to creating a new faith. This doesn't feel like it belongs in a roleplaying game. He can't do that unless he controls 3 arbitrary locations on the other side of the world from him. Therefore, it's odd that the most pious pagan ruler, the most respected amongst the priests can't convince them to organise and adopt a coherent church structure, religious law, codified pantheon etc. Roleplay is now in the spotlight of the game's development from what we've seen. The CK3 devs have embraced the fact that what they're making is a medieval RPG, as well as a grand strategy. The CK3 religion system allows for much more player freedom and control, so the quite arbitrary requirement of 3 holy sites, which forces the player to adopt a particular playstyle seems like a strange choice. This is an issue for players like me who want to play a more roleplay focused game, instead of painting the map. If you were to play, let's say, as a Slavic pagan in the Balkans and don't want to forsake the old gods, you'd have to blob out quite considerably to reach the required 3 holy sites. While this isn't an issue for more localised faiths like Romuva, where almost all the holy sites are within the territory of the de jure Kingdom of Lithuania, or near to it, for the more spread out faiths like Tengriism or Slavic Paganism it becomes an issue. I have issues with this system which I'm going to present now, as well as possible improvements to the system. That is, you must control 3 holy sites of the religion and have to have some piety to reform the faith. Given the many changes to religion and faith in CK3, I was disappointed to see that pagan reformation is more or less ported straight from CK2.
